London, England, 26 October 2026 – World Padel Network today publishes the results of the UK Padel Coach Survey 2026, an independent survey of padel coaches working in the UK. Not one coach put low pay among their biggest constraints. Two in three named court access or court cost instead.
Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, and the coaches teaching it are a new profession: 85% of those who answered have coached padel for two years or less, and nobody had coached for five years or more. For most, it is real income, not a hobby: 94% said coaching is their main or a significant second income, and 82% said a one-hour private lesson costs £50 or more where they coach.

The survey points to a gap in support rather than pay. 67% of coaches feel positive about coaching padel in the UK, but only 36% feel well supported day to day, and 48% feel neither supported nor unsupported. Asked what would help most, the top answer was ongoing training and development (42%), followed by a coach community (24%). Of those who named a type of support, 81% said they would definitely or probably pay for it.

“I went looking for reliable information about padel coaches in the UK and couldn’t find any, so we did something about it,” said Jamie Rowe, Founder, World Padel Network. “At Clash of the Coaches it was obvious that coaches want to connect, teach and learn from one another. The question was what else they need to advance, and the only way to find out was to ask them.”
He added: “Coaches aren’t asking for more money. They’re asking for courts at reasonable prices they can teach on and somewhere to get better at the job. That’s a gap clubs, governing bodies and coach educators can close, and the coaches have told us they’d pay to close it.”

The survey ran from 5 to 18 October 2026 and was answered by 33 coaches across England, Scotland and Wales. The results are indicative rather than representative. The full results, including every coach’s answer in their own words, are available at worldpadelnetwork.com/uk-padel-coach-survey-2026-results. World Padel Network will run the survey again in 2027.
