COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT:
DHANY QUEVEDO

How did you get started in padel, and what’s your story?

I grew up playing tennis and spent most of my life competing at a high level. I played professionally before going on to compete at the Division I level, so sport has always been a core part of who I am. Competition shaped my mindset, discipline, and drive early on.

I was introduced to padel through a friend and started playing in the summer of 2024. From the beginning, the sport reignited a competitive fire I did not even realize I had been missing. I quickly fell in love with the strategy, intensity, and constant problem solving that padel demands.

I am competitive by nature, so once I committed to playing, my focus became improving, training consistently, and competing. Since then, I have loved competing on the USPA circuit and have been grateful for the opportunity to represent Team USA in a few competitions. That passion for competing, combined with my professional background, naturally expanded into building a business around the sport.

What’s your mission and your values?

My mission is to help grow padel in the U.S. in a way that is intentional, credible, and sustainable. I want to help build an ecosystem where athletes, clubs, and brands are supported with structure, strategy, and long term vision.

The values that guide my work are passion, growth, innovation, commitment, and integrity. I believe in showing up fully, thinking long term, leading with transparency, and building partnerships rooted in trust and shared ambition.

What’s the mission of your agency, Elite Sports Management? Why did you create it, and what’s your focus for this year?

Elite Sports Management is a sports representation and consulting agency focused on growing padel and other racquet sports in the United States. We empower athletes, elevate clubs, and connect organizations through strategic partnerships that drive visibility, opportunity, and long term growth.

I created Elite Sports Management after seeing firsthand how fragmented the U.S. padel landscape still is. Athletes are competing without structure, clubs are expanding rapidly, and brands want to enter the sport but often lack guidance. With my background as both an athlete and a communications professional, I saw an opportunity to help bridge those gaps and bring more clarity and professionalism to the space.

This year, our focus is on securing major deals for the athletes we represent and creating collaboration opportunities that help clubs grow their communities and commercial potential.

What’s the best way for people to follow your padel journey and connect with you?

The best way to follow my padel journey is on Instagram, where I share both my life as an athlete and the behind the scenes of building Elite Sports Management.

What’s been your favourite part of the journey so far? What’s been the biggest challenge so far?

From an athlete perspective, my favorite part of the journey has been competing again and committing fully to the process. Padel has challenged me in new ways while still allowing me to draw on years of high level tennis experience.

Reconnecting with old friends through sport, building new relationships, and competing on the USPA circuit have been highlights. At the same time, the challenges are real. Balancing training around work schedules, managing travel costs, and maintaining consistency while growing a business has required discipline and intentional planning. Navigating all of that while helping grow a developing sport has been both demanding and rewarding, but I am loving every second of it and sometimes it does not even feel like work.

What’s next for you, and what are you most excited about this year? What are your priorities for 2026?

Personally, one of my main priorities this year is to continue competing on the USPA circuit and represent the U.S. at the World Championships later this year. I am focused on training with intention, competing consistently, and continuing to raise my level as an athlete.

From an Elite Sports Management perspective, I am most excited about securing major partnerships for our athletes and creating collaboration opportunities that support clubs and help grow the U.S. padel ecosystem.

Looking ahead to 2026, my priority is impact through action. I want to continue helping lead the growth of padel in the U.S. by building strong partnerships, supporting athletes properly, and contributing to a more professional and sustainable future for the sport.
