About Laura & Her Padel Story
“Padel changed my life” might sound dramatic, but for Laura Kay (might know her better as “Laura Padel Addict”), it’s simply the truth. What started as a casual invitation to “come try padel” quickly turned into full-blown obsession. One match was all it took. Plans were cancelled, extra games were squeezed in, and before long, padel wasn’t just a hobby, it became part of who she is.
Laura fell hard for everything the sport offers: the strategy, the chaos, the teamwork, and yes, the walls — even with their love-hate relationship. What began as curiosity turned into commitment, and she wouldn’t change a thing!
Why She Shares Her Journey
Laura started sharing her padel journey because she noticed something missing online. No one was really showing the missed shots, the “why did I do that?” moments. She wanted to show padel as it truly is: fun, frustrating, addictive, and incredibly social.
Her mission is simple: make padel feel less intimidating and more irresistible. Her values are even simpler, to show up, work hard, laugh louder, and never pretend you don’t still miss easy balls.
In the early days, it was just Laura, her phone, and a group of padel friends who supported her journey while simultaneously roasting her mistakes (character building?). A solid foundation!
Getting Involved
The best way to follow Laura’s journey is on social media at @laurapadeladdict, where she shares match days, training sessions, unfiltered padel thoughts (“padel thoughts I should probably keep to myself”), and constant reminders that progress is rarely linear.
If you want to connect with her, simply send a message, leave a comment, or challenge her to a match. Just don’t ask her to stop talking about padel (non-negotiable).
Reflections from the Journey
For Laura, the best part of padel has always been the community. Teammates become rivals, rivals become friends, sometimes all within the same week. Knowing she’s inspired others to try padel or stick with it means more to her than any win… although winning definitely helps!
The biggest challenge has been accepting padel’s sense of humour. Progress can be slow, humbling, and occasionally rude – but that unpredictability is exactly what keeps her coming back.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Laura’s vision for 2026 is more padel (no prizes for guessing this), bigger goals, a stronger community, and even better vibes. She’s excited to keep growing, collaborating, competing, and pulling more people into the padel obsession.
The padel journey is only just getting started for Laura and we’re excited to see what’s next!
