About Jack
Jack Binstead’s padel journey began in the summer of 2023, thanks to a nudge from a friend and coach (Luke Dolphin), who insisted he give the sport a try. One session was all it took. What started as curiosity quickly became a central part of his life – with a belief that the sport could and should be more inclusive.
As Jack became more immersed in the sport and through conversations, he realised that he was likely the only wheelchair padel player in the UK. Rather than seeing that as a limitation, he saw opportunity. The mission became clear: to help identify national talent, open doors for adaptive athletes, and prove that wheelchairs belong on padel courts too.
That message resonated quickly. Jack’s story gained traction on social media, leading to international attention and early opportunities to compete abroad. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind for him – from representing adaptive padel on new stages to navigating the unique tactical challenges of the game. While wheelchair padel allows two bounces like in wheelchair tennis, it’s more difficult in padel – turning each match into a deeply strategic battle.
Bold Missions
Jack also shares his journey publicly to challenge perceptions and push for greater inclusion within the sport. His ambition is to see padel reach the Paralympics, and to one day bring home gold for Great Britain himself.
Padel has already taken Jack to some unforgettable places, including Lugano in Switzerland and multiple cities across Italy. Travel, competition, and community have become inseparable parts of his experience – even as accessibility and funding remain ongoing hurdles.
Jack is currently nominated for Adaptive Padel Player of the Year, in the British Padel Awards. Voting is open, and every vote helps amplify the visibility of adaptive padel, so he encourages people to vote for him and to let him know then they’ve voted.

The Plan for 2026
Looking ahead, Jack has several competitions he hopes to attend, but securing sponsorship remains a constant challenge. His goal is to work with brands and partners who recognise that adaptive athletes are not just inspiring stories, but exciting, valuable investments in the future of padel.
