Her Court Padel Club is a fast-growing female padel community based in Cheshire, created to give women of all ages and abilities a welcoming space to discover padel, build confidence, and connect through sport.
Founded by Paige, Her Court began not as a business idea, but as a simple desire to bring people together. Paige works full-time as a Sleep Specialist alongside practicing as an Integrative Therapist, while also studying CBT. Outside of work and studies, she has always loved staying active — from running and high-intensity workouts to walking and fitness-focused sports — and padel quickly became the one that truly stuck.
Discovering Padel
Paige first discovered padel in the winter of 2024 when several local clubs opened nearby. With no previous racket sports experience, she went in with no preconceptions, simply wanting to try something new. Despite not feeling particularly “good” at first, she was instantly hooked.
For her, padel offered the perfect combination of challenge, fun, and fitness. It delivered a great cardio workout while improving agility, coordination, and strength – all without ever feeling like exercise. Just as importantly, it offered something she hadn’t found elsewhere: a social, supportive environment that benefited both physical and mental wellbeing.
From Socials to a Community
Initially, Paige played mixed games with her partner, as walking into a club as a complete beginner felt intimidating. Over time, her confidence grew and she began joining evening padel socials. These sessions became a turning point – a fun, welcoming way to learn, improve, and meet other women who were also discovering the sport.
In February 2025, after one such social, Paige wondered whether there was interest in more female-only padel games. A simple Instagram story sparked an overwhelming response. From there, a small WhatsApp group formed, and quickly grew, highlighting a real demand for a supportive space where women could try padel and meet like-minded people.
The Birth of Her Court
That summer, Paige organised a casual Padel & Pizza evening, bringing the group together for the first time. There was no profit motive — just padel, pizza, a few cocktails, and a great atmosphere. Twenty women attended, and the event turned into a memorable evening that lasted until dark at Hartford Golf & Padel Club.
From that moment, Her Court Padel Club was officially born. An Instagram page was launched, and the community continued to grow — from the original 50 members to over 180 women!
Growing Something Special
Paige was soon joined by fellow padel enthusiast Abbie, who helped run events, socials, and take on a new challenge: launching Cheshire’s first female-only padel league. With support from their friend Kym, who helped with structure and fixtures, the team built the league from scratch, learning as they went.
The 10-week league ran at Destination Padel Northwich, featuring two divisions and 40 women signed up in pairs. It was deliberately inclusive, welcoming everyone from complete beginners to more experienced players, including those with tennis backgrounds.
To keep things fun and friendly, the league included prizes throughout, with a celebratory finale bringing everyone together. Support and prizes from sponsors such as Press Hartford, Cheshire Alpacas, Slazenger, Jade & Joy, Verve and the club helped elevate the experience, and plans are already underway to return with a bigger, better league next spring.
What Her Court Stands For
At its core, Her Court Padel Club is about inclusivity. Some socials are level-based, while others are fully mixed. The aim is to ensure everyone feels welcome, regardless of age, experience, or confidence level.
While the group doesn’t meet on a fixed weekly schedule, the WhatsApp community keeps everyone connected, sharing games, organising matches, booking onto club-hosted socials, and staying up to date with upcoming Her Court events.
The community mainly plays at Hartford Golf & Padel Club, The Padel Den, and Destination Padel, but actively encourages members to explore new venues and experience different padel environments.
Impact Beyond the Court
For Paige, the most rewarding part of the journey has been watching confidence grow. Members who had never picked up a racket are now booking games, taking coaching sessions, learning the rules, and arranging matches with people they’d never met before. Others who joined while feeling new or isolated in the area are now regular faces at socials and league nights.
Her Court has become more than padel; it’s a place where friendships form, confidence builds, and women feel empowered in a sport that can often feel male-dominated.
Looking Ahead
In the year ahead, Her Court Padel Club plans to launch another league, alongside more frequent, smaller socials to help even more women get involved. Introductory and taster sessions are also planned, making it easier for newcomers to discover the sport.
The mission remains clear: grow the community, help women develop skills, make friends, and, most importantly, have fun!
