COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: GEORGIE PLAYS PADEL

How Georgie’s padel journey began

Georgie’s padel journey began in 2023 at a local David Lloyd club — and what started as a social session quickly became something much bigger. With no prior sports background, padel opened the door to fitness, confidence, and a competitive side she didn’t know she had.

What makes Georgie’s content resonate is how real it feels. She shares padel as it’s often played at club level in the UK – not beginner, not elite – where players are still learning tactics, refining techniques, and finding their rhythm. Her approach is refreshingly broad too: padel can be funny, focused, and expressive.

“I try and vary up the kind of content I post. I think padel can be silly, serious and sexy. There’s space for it all!”

Welcoming (and addictive!) nature of padel

Early on, Georgie often found herself the only woman in social sessions, which could feel intimidating in an often male-dominated environment. That experience helped shape her mission: showing other women that you don’t need a sporting background to belong on court. You just need to pick up a racket and go for it.

“You can pick up a racket with no prior experience and find your place! You just have to go for it! The community is great.”

Community sits at the heart of her story. Through padel holidays and club life, she’s built lasting friendships – even if the biggest challenge is finding time for anything else. (Padel has a habit of taking over… in the best way.)

Plans for 2026

Looking ahead, Georgie plans to play at more clubs across the UK and beyond, train more consistently both on court and in the gym, and get involved in initiatives that bring more women and young people into the sport.

You can follow Georgie on Instagram and TikTok at @GeorgiePlaysPadel — and if her padel journey resonates, she encourages people to reach out.
