About FemPadel Collective
FemPadel Collective was founded by two Colombian sisters, Claudia and Carolina, who now live in Portugal and The Netherlands. Their journeys into padel began in different ways but led them to the same mission: “to carve out a dedicated space for women in padel.”
Claudia first discovered padel in the UK, shortly after moving from the United States, where she had lived for 17 years. For her, padel became a wonderful way to connect with new people and build a sense of community.
Carolina started playing two years ago during a challenging period of burnout. Physically and emotionally drained, she found padel to be a way to rebuild her confidence, dedicate time for herself, and enjoy something for herself too.
Community Origins
FemPadel Collective was built with a simple but powerful vision: to create a dedicated space for women in padel. Both sisters strongly believe that the sport can be a powerful tool for empowerment, offering women opportunities to grow, excel, and thrive both on and off the court.
Their mission is to make padel more welcoming and less intimidating for women. Through small events and community gatherings, they quickly saw how much this was needed – the positive response inspired them to keep building a safe and supportive space for female players worldwide.
Reflections on the Journey
Coming from the fashion industry, both sisters have found padel refreshingly different – open, welcoming, and full of joy. The sense of community that padel creates across cultures and countries has been the highlight of their journey so far.
Challenges have been few, though balancing FemPadel Collective’s growth with their busy schedules remains demanding. Still, their passion for empowering women through padel keeps them motivated and able to carve out the time.
We asked Claudia and Carolina how people can engage with the FemPadel Collective, and they told us there are three main ways:
1) Engage with us – Follow along, comment, save, and share. Every interaction helps our community grow and makes women in padel more visible.
2) Bring others in – Invite a friend, a colleague, or a family member to play. Sometimes all it takes is one invitation to get someone started.
3) Share your story – We love to highlight the journeys of women from every level of the game. Whether you’re just starting out or already competing, your story can inspire someone else to try.
The Padel Retreat Experience
In collaboration with The Padel Row, FemPadel Collective hosted a retreat in Valencia that exceeded expectations. With high-level training led by Bernat, combined with physical sessions, recovery practices, and an incredible group dynamic, the retreat left a lasting mark on everyone involved.
The all-in-one experience – padel, great food, a comfortable hotel, and community – made it unforgettable. Their next retreat will take place from March 19th to 23rd in Valencia, once again partnering with The Padel Row. It looked so good that we at World Padel Network are interested in attending too!
Looking Ahead
The sisters envision FemPadel Collective as the go-to source for women in padel. Whether it’s finding the right coach, choosing a first class, joining retreats, or accessing resources to thrive, their goal is to guide and support women through every step of their journey.
With exciting plans for more experiences and opportunities, FemPadel Collective is determined to ensure that women don’t just play padel, but truly grow and flourish through it.
Thank you for sharing your story with us, Claudia and Carolina, and wishing you all the best!
