Powerhouse padel founders

CLUB SPOTLIGHT:
POWERHOUSE PADEL

Founded by two friends and passionate players, this brand-new facility is set to bring a bold new padel experience to Coleraine, a town that’s set to power padel in Northern Ireland.

From Players to Founders

After picking up padel 18 months ago, the founders, Elliott and Simon, quickly recognised a major gap in the Northern Ireland scene. Local courts were overbooked, demand was growing fast, and options were limited. That’s when the idea naturally took shape.

They secured a prime location in Coleraine – an iconic former JJB Sports unit with no padel facilities within a 50-mile radius. It ticked all the boxes for them: “ideal in location with no padel courts within 50 miles, and [it has] the added benefits of being a university town and a popular holiday destination during the summer,” they told us.

Since then, the team has made serious strides: planning permission approved, social channels launched, and the vision for a unique venue now well underway.

A Club That Stands Out

Powerhouse Padel is doing things differently. From the start, they’ve been laser-focused on building a standout brand – beginning with something players will notice immediately: purple courts. Vibrant, bold, and different in the UK, it’ll be a signature feature of the Powerhouse experience.

But it’s not just about colour. The club will also feature PushIt replay technology. This technology allows players to rewatch their best moments (and worst). Whether you’re a casual player or chasing a higher rating, this tech sounds pretty exciting.

What to Expect

When the doors open, players will find five panoramic indoor courts – four doubles courts and one singles court. We love that they’re featuring a singles court, as we’ve found them hard to come by in the UK.

They’ll also have a fully stocked shop with rackets, balls, grips, and more.

Built for Community

At the heart of Powerhouse Padel is a simple mission: bring people together through the sport.
Social nights will play a key role in fostering that sense of connection – welcoming players of all skill levels and helping to build an inclusive, positive atmosphere.

The team is also looking beyond the club itself, with plans to partner with “local businesses and schools to make padel more accessible and to grow a wider network around the club – both on and off the court.”

What’s Next?

Powerhouse Padel may not be open yet, but momentum is building fast. With an eye-catching brand and few padel clubs nearby, they’re set to make a serious impression on the Northern Ireland padel scene. We wish them all the best.
