AP Becomes The “Official Timekeeper” For Premier Padel
Audemars Piguet (AP) – a world-renowned Swiss manufacturer of ultra-luxury watches – has entered the world of padel as the “Official Timekeeper of the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour” and has partnered with Agustín Tapia, the world’s current #1 padel player.
It follows a day after Agustín Tapia teased the collaboration by posting photos of himself wearing an AP watch on Instagram. It’s not the first major luxury watchmaker to enter the sport though – as Tapia’s padel partner, Arturo Coello, announced a partnership with Rolex earlier this year in January.
"Setting new standards for the sport’s global development, Premier Padel has established itself as the leading professional tour worldwide. As Official Timekeeper, we will accompany the circuit throughout the season, both on site and through international broadcasts."
AP On Why They Partnered With Agustín Tapia
The reason is obvious, of course: he’s the world’s #1 padel player and arguably the most popular. AP commented that “his playing style, defined by precision, creativity and a refined sense of timing, combined with humility and professionalism on and off the court, make him a natural fit to join the AP family.”
