How did you get started in padel, and what’s your story?
I started playing padel at the age of nine, when my father took up the sport – it sparked a huge curiosity for me. At first, we would simply rally together or I would train against the wall, but it didn’t take long before the whole family signed up for lessons at a local club.
Thanks to the number of children my age at that club, I began competing just one year later – first in Madrid, and then in tournaments outside the city. By the age of 11, I was already competing full-time on the national junior circuit. During that stage, I won five Spanish Championships and five World Championships.
At 16, I received a scholarship from the Fundación Damm, which allowed me to start training within a professional structure and made the transition from junior to professional padel much easier. I always knew I wanted to try to make a living from padel, while continuing my education alongside my sporting career.
I have been competing on the professional circuit since the age of 18 and have now completed 12 seasons. Alongside this, I earned a degree in Biochemistry and completed a Master’s in Health Analysis.
At a professional level, I have reached a career-high ranking of world number 19, reached the quarter-finals of main draws on multiple occasions, been crowned Madrid Champion three times, won the Spanish Team Championships and Autonomous Selection Championships on several occasions, and was crowned European Champion in 2019.
Today, I continue to compete at the highest level. I also collaborate as a coach with the Madrid Padel Federation in the junior development programme and serve on the board of the International Association of Professional Female Players (IPPA).
What’s your mission and your values?
My main objective is to continue giving my best and improving as a player in order to reach my sporting goals, without ever losing the enjoyment of what I do. I feel incredibly fortunate to dedicate myself to my passion, and I want to make the most of every stage of this journey.
I am certain that when my playing career comes to an end, I will remain connected to padel from outside the court.
The values of sport have always been fundamental to me: respect, commitment, and responsibility. I am very demanding of myself, a perfectionist in my work, and I place great importance on honesty, both on and off the court. Before being athletes, we are people.
How can people follow your padel journey and connect with you?
The best way to follow my career is through my Instagram profile, where I share my day-to-day life as a professional player, with a particular focus on my experience in competition.
I also enjoy collaborating whenever possible with charitable causes and taking part in interviews or initiatives that allow me to share my experience and help bring padel closer to more people.
What’s been your favourite part of the journey & the biggest challenge?
What I enjoy most about my life as a player is the day-to-day – training, pushing myself to the limit, and sharing the process with my team and close circle. I also really value the travel and competition, which help make spending so much time away from home more manageable.
Without a doubt, the biggest challenge is being far from family and friends, especially during periods when results are not going your way or when you are going through emotionally difficult moments. In those times, mental strength and consistency in your work are essential. In the end, results come – and if they don’t, there is always the peace of mind that comes from knowing you gave everything you had.
Looking ahead, what’s next for you?
I am currently in the middle of pre-season, fully focused on preparing for a long and demanding year ahead. My goal is to achieve greater consistency in my results while continuing to enjoy the competitive process.
I feel extremely motivated going into this season, as I know I am preparing with dedication and have a great team around me. Looking ahead to this year, my priority will be to consolidate that sporting stability and continue growing, both on and off the court.
