About the Club
Connect Padel was born out of a vision to bring padel to Birmingham – the UK’s second biggest city by population – which had been lagging behind London, Bristol, and Manchester in terms of padel facilities, particularly covered and indoor courts. Founder Charlie saw an opportunity not just to open courts, but to create a hub where players could feel a true sense of belonging. Affordability and accessibility were central from day one, with Connect Padel offering some of the most competitive court prices in the region, along with donating 1,000 hours of free court time to local schools and charities. The ultimate goal is to build a genuine padel community where everyone, from first-timers to seasoned players, feels at home.
The Launch
The Grand Opening earlier this month (August) was nothing short of a celebration. Over 500 players, including 50 children, were welcomed to enjoy free court time, coaching, and equipment hire. The response from the Birmingham community has been overwhelmingly positive.
With more than half of players new to padel, Connect Padel’s “Intro to Padel” sessions quickly filled to capacity, proving that one game is often enough to get hooked on the sport (as we can all relate to!).
What Makes Connect Padel Unique
At Connect Padel, it’s all about people and connection (clue’s in the name). Courts and facilities are the backdrop, but the beating heart of the club is its members. The team’s focus is on creating a welcoming environment where players feel supported and part of something bigger. From professional coaching across all levels to regular social events, leagues, and tournaments, the experience goes well beyond the game itself. An always-on staff presence and a buzzing WhatsApp community keep the connections strong both on and off the court.
Facilities & Experience
Players at Connect Padel can expect tour-level quality, thanks to panoramic courts installed in partnership with Hexa Padel and professional-standard lighting for peak playability. Even beginners are given the best possible start, with high-quality Y1 Padel Panna rackets available for hire. Off the court, the experience continues with free on-site parking, changing rooms, a fully stocked pro shop, and relaxed lounge areas – both outdoor and covered. Whether it’s barista-quality coffee before a match or a post-game drink with friends, the club is designed for comfort and social connection.
Community
Connect Padel’s community is vibrant and growing quickly. Social mix-ins bring players of all levels together, while leagues and tournaments provide the competitive edge many are looking for. The WhatsApp group has become a go-to space for members to arrange games, share tips, and keep up with the latest club news, ensuring that the sense of community extends well beyond the courts.
Looking Ahead
Autumn Leagues are set to kick off soon, creating even more opportunities for structured competition. A new Spanish coach, Alejandro Garcia, is joining the team to deliver specialised coaching and help players raise their game. Junior development and player pathway initiatives are also in the works, with details to come in the months ahead. Beyond that, Connect Padel is committed to keeping the calendar fresh with new events, social activities, and partnerships, all aimed at introducing more people to the sport and strengthening the club’s role at the heart of Birmingham’s padel community.
